‘PLEASE DO TOUCH’ is a journey through places and materials. It discusses
the fragility of silence in isolation due to the outbreak of the COVID-19
pandemic and invites the audience to engage with the artwork.
My need for touch and finding comfort in isolation, led me to craft sensorial art
objects that must be touched. It is an intimate attempt aiming to provide
the beholder with pleasure and relaxation. My artistic work seeks to
create a relationship. Along the way, I focuse my efforts on the body, on
places where the lack of intimate human touch is mainly located. Through
the interaction between the pieces and the audience, I seek answers on
whether the material and the shapes, as well as the sensory aspects of the
artwork, can enhance relaxation and inner balance. I use the hollowness
of the pieces as a metaphor for absence, isolation, and silence.
Come closer, and PLEASE DO TOUCH.
Caress the silence or even break it!
